Alcohol-based hand sanitiser contains a combination of isopropyl alcohol or ethanol.

Non-alcohol based versions typically contain benzalkonium chloride or triclosan. They are less effective than alcohol-based ones. This is why we believe our 80% of alcohol bulk hand sanitiser is the safest option

The alcohol in hand sanitizers may not have the 10–15 seconds exposure time required to denature proteins and cells in concentrations below 60%.
